Setting Gambling Limits

Capping your wagers or losses over a chosen period.

Updated

If you want a hard ceiling on your play, set a gambling limit. There are two kinds:

  • A wager limit caps the total you can bet over a period, win or lose.
  • A loss limit caps your net loss over a period, meaning what you have bet minus what you have won back.

Each kind can be set per day, per week, or per month, and you can run several at once, one per combination. Periods follow the calendar, resetting at the start of each day, each week, and each month.

Set them in Safe Play, under Gambling Limits. Enter the amount in whichever currency display you use. Once a limit is active, the page shows how much of it the current period has used, and any bet that would push past it is refused.

The direction of a change decides its speed:

  • Tightening a limit, or adding a new one, takes effect immediately.
  • Raising or removing one takes effect only after a 24 hour cooling off period. Until then the old limit keeps protecting you, and you can cancel the change at any point before it lands.

If two-factor authentication is on, every limit change asks for a code, whichever direction it goes.
